After George Osbournes spending review, we saw the terrible use of the word "fair" by the ConDemed coalition, claiming that the measures they were taking were ensuring that "those with the broadest back should carry the greatest burden". A party cheering redundancy and increase in tuition fees cannot claim fairness. The simple fact of the matter is that a three times increase of tuition fees will stop talented people from going to university because they dont want to be saddled with debt. How can it ever be fair for someone who never payed to attend university, whilst being born into a wealthy family, to tell the young today they must. How is it fair that the ambitions of a young person can be taken away because a millionare in his ivory tower was too out of touch with society to see the result of his action. The Tories have never understood what is fair.
